Q: Where can I find an "upgrade" version of QuickBooks 2006?
A: QuickBooks no longer sells a separate "upgrade" version of QuickBooks. Existing users can purchase QuickBooks 2006 at the new low price. When you install, QuickBooks will update your company file and bring all your preferences from your previous version.

Q: Where is the upgrade discount for current QuickBooks users?
A: This year we have reduced our prices for QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2006 Editions to provide every day low pricing for all customers. In most cases, the price you would have paid to upgrade to QuickBooks 2006 is the same or lower than last year's 2005 upgrade price.

Q: Can I upgrade any older versions of QuickBooks software to the latest version?
A: Yes. If you're a Windows user, you can upgrade from any older versions of QuickBooks to QuickBooks 2006 for Windows. 2 You can also convert data from some QuickBooks Mac editions to QuickBooks Windows editions. See QuickBooks Pro for Mac 2006 for more details.2

Q: What if I currently use QuickBooks, but I just got a new computer that doesn't have QuickBooks installed on it?
A: Just install the 2006 software program in the new computer and transfer your company file to the new computer. All of your data will convert to the 2006 program and you can begin using the new program right away.

Q: What if I'm upgrading from a previous version of Basic?
A: Customers who currently have QuickBooks Basic (which is no longer being offered) will receive a mail-in rebate to assist them in upgrading to QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks Premier. Since we're no longer offering Basic for 2006, the QuickBooks 2006 Rebate is for previous users of the QuickBooks Basic edition only, other QuickBooks products do not qualify.

If you're using QuickBooks: Pro 5.0 for Mac or a prior version, we recommend that you upgrade now. As of April 30, 2006, QuickBooks: Pro 5.0 for Mac will be retired, and live technical support will be discontinued.5 QuickBooks Pro 4.0 and prior versions for Mac have already been retired.

Q: What if I decide I like my old method better?
A: We guarantee your satisfaction 100 percent - or your money back. If you're not happy with any QuickBooks product for any reason, return it within 60 days with a dated receipt for a full refund of your purchase price. Data converted for the new version of QuickBooks will not open on an earlier version, so if you go back to using your old version of QuickBooks, you will need to open your backup copy using your old version of QuickBooks and reenter any new transactions.
