We went to the moon and back with engineering graphics created on the drafting table. In fact, the whole Space Shuttle program was developed in the 1970's - before the PC was invented.
Now you have to go to a junkyard to see a drafting table.
Flash (previously Macromedia now Adobe) is essentially a javascript generator. The flavor of javascript it uses is called actionscript. Javascript was designed for the browser, to allow behaviors of various kinds to be programmed into web graphics, making them animate. Flash is a software which helps the designer build javascript animations, previously known as "shockwave" files or movies (swf).
